I am considering upgrading from an X575 with 47" 2-stage blower and 62" mmm to either a 4115 or 4210. My 575 doesn't have the weight to handle the 3-4' drifts in my 900' paved driveway. The mowing quality is excellent however. I just tried out a 4210 with a frontier 5' rear discharge. The time to mow and the cut quality didn't seem to match my 575 (although it was my 1st time using a RFM). These 2 tractors are so close in price that it is difficult to decide. Money is not the issue, I just don't want to be dissappointed by the mowing performance not matching that of my 575. I will only use machine for finish mowing, occasional brush clearing and snow blowing.
Any advice on what machine will be the best match is greatly appreciated.

I'm surpised to hear the X575 dosent have the weight to handle 3-4 ft drifts especially with a front blower? I guess
few machine's really can when the snow's that deep - but with 4wd and a front blower you really have a great setup for the
majority of severe weather. Maybe more suitcase weights? Fluid in the tires? chains? will improve performance?
My take overall is the x575 will have a advantage over mowing than the larger machines, because it will be more nimble and the deck type and cut quality should be slightly better with the X575 than a 4115 or larger. You have a lot of land based on your profile. I have a 4100 but I cant comment on the mowing aspect because I have another machine for mowing (dedicated). Honestly I'm not sure if you will get a machine that will be a do and excel in every area. I have to believe the larger the machine the less cut quality compare to the smaller machines. I think the 2210,4110,4115 will cut better than the 4210 and larger because of their size for a MMM, and nimbleness...Thankfully quite a few member's use the machine's above as dedicated mowers, so feedback will be good and accurate...If you went to bigger machine would you still use a front blower?? thats an expensive attachment half the price of a good dedicated mower

I have a 4410 with a 72" MMM that I use to cut the yard occasionally. It makes a nice cut appearance but the machine is just too large and unwieldy. The ROPS bar makes it very difficult to cut near bushes and trees. I would think you will run into the same issue with the 4115 but not nearly as much. The 4210 is underpowered for its size and cost and I would strongly recomend the 4310 or 4410 shold you decide to go large. These machines will definitely handle the snow blowing, but not be so hot at lawn mowing which involves many obstacles and trimming. The 4110 is a much more adept at the mowing part but you will still encounter problems with size and the ROPS but not nearly as much. The 4110 has a shorter wheel base but not as much hp as the 4115. Probably the best of both worlds would be the 4310 and a LT/GT of some type. I use a Deere F525 to cut the lawn and the 4410 for cutting about 8 acres of pasture and trails. Your budget and size considerations will be most likely drive this decision. ....

The situation Chief describes is what I have. I bought a 4310 with 72" mmm, 430 loader, etc specifically to be a balanced all-around machine. I use it to mow about 3 acres of lawn. But it is not that good for mowing around some of the 500 trees we planted this spring. I can get really close to them but the tractor is very big for going in between them. A lot of my yard is open so it works awesome for that. Cut quality is pretty darn close to my JD 325 with 54" deck. But we kept the JD 325 specifically for mowing in the tighter areas like around the trees and in the very front yard where things are planted willy-nilly. I love the machine, but with trees and such I would have a hard time using it as the solo mower. I bought it to cut the mow time on the big areas. It really does that!!
Snow removal. I've got 3-5 ft drifts because of the way my property lays and the typical winter weather in my area. I do not use a blower because the person who built the house used large diameter landscape rock at the top of the driveway instead of gravel. So it doesn't compact and really wrecks snowblowers. The last two winters I used an Oliver 550 with a loader and a 6 ft blade. Worked ok until the one tire went flat. One major problem was the 2 wheel drive. It got stuck often. Then we got the wet snow. I got stuck really bad. Hence the new 4310 with 4 wheel drive. I haven't tried it in snow yet. But am expecting it to be better than the Oliver.
My long winded point is to seriously consider the main, number 1 use of the machine. If mowing is your thing, maybe you need to tolerate the X575's performance for snow removal. I had to do that with my Oliver. It wasn't great, but was the best that I had so I made do and it worked. Just took longer than I would have liked. If your main thing is snow removal and you can accept poorer handling for mowing or have something else to do the fine detail mowing, then maybe the 4210/4310 is a good thing.
This is getting really long, but I went with the 4310 vs the 4210 for the additional power. A co-worker is running a JD utility tractor at about 25-27 hp. It bogs down for him when mowing and going uphill. I live on a hill so I wanted as much power as I could get to prevent that from happening. It doesn't except when I ignore my responsibilities and the grass gets a foot tall or so. So that's why I went with the 4310 vs the 4210. Plus I think the 4310 has slightly more mass for moving snow. I couldn't justify the 4410 for the additional $ my dealer wanted. ....
